My 7 year old son has been reading the Ballpark Mysteries books for about a year and a half now, and he LOVES them. He's an avid baseball fan, but also has a love for reading in general. These books are fun and engaging, and he always complains that the chapters end with a "mystery" that makes you want to keep reading! We've read through all of the books in the series, and are now working on reading them all a second time!For those not familiar with the Ballpark Mysteries series, the books follow cousins Mike & Kate as they travel around the country visiting baseball stadiums (usually with Kate's mom, who is a sports reporter for a website, but sometimes with Kate's dad, who is a baseball scout I believe). Along the way, Mike and Kate inevitably encounter a mystery involving the stadium or one of the baseball players. Mike and Kate are great at solving mysteries, so they always figure things out by the end of the book. These books are great for both boys and girls, since the main characters are a boy and a girl.Throughout each book, the reader learns facts about each stadium, and there is also a fun facts page at the end of eachbook as well. My son has collected all of the books in the series, and is eagerly anticipating the release of the newest one, the Cardinal Caper!If your child likes these books, I would also highly recommend the Little Rhino series. Good read for a young Cubs fan! This is one of a series of mysteries that take place at various ball parks.
My son loved this book
My 8 year old son loves The Boxcar Children series. He is also a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan. The moment he got this book he could sit it down. We love it!
Great interest for kids playing Little League or watching the World Series with family. Includes interesting facts about Wrigley I never knew!
Christmas gift. Was liked a lot.
Another solid effort from Kelly in the Ballpark Mysteries series. Enjoyable reading for baseball-loving kids.
