As with all his books, Dr. Tozer does not pull any punches. He tells it just like it really is and it is not for the queezy, comfortable, arm-chair Christian who does not care about maturing in Christ. As usual he makes one feel that they want to rise a notch in their Christian life and really DO something for the Lord. No recommended for those who are comfortable just going to one service in church on Sunday and living a worldly life the rest of the week or even for the casual church goer who has his little "quiet time" every morning and then goes about his own business the rest of the time. Tozer is for the FULL TIME CHRISTIAN!
This book will open your eyes to God's truth. It DEMANDS COMMITMENT from you. God expects nothing less. If you are not Serious about walking with God.....This book is not for You. Possibly at a later date. I loved it, it opened my eyes, showed me areas i need to grow in. I'm glad I read this book.
My absolute favorite book from A.W. Tozer by far!!!!!! There are some words that Tozer uses that you may not be familiar with (as I wasn't) that you may have to look up to see what he means but other than that, this book will absolutely set you on a course to pursue God more and go deeper with Him in your walk!
Although Mr. Tozer's writings are extremely deep they help me to dig deeper and prayer more for a spiritual understanding of how I can help to advance today's church so that the church will be all she can be and more prepared for our Lord's return.
Tower does a great job in presenting the godly man and his pursuit of God. I read this as a devotional and it has stirred me to the characteristics that I must have. Great read!
Great and inspiring book to read. Tozer is an old-school preacher. He preached things the way they are.
