When looking to grow by acquisitions it is often overwhelming. The options are multiple but so are the questions. Not just questions on paper but within you own mind. I found it comforting to read the same thoughts that were running through my head on my first acquisition and even now during our second attempt. As an avid reader, I love when I find a book that is chalked with useful information but avoids going on and on. Bly's book is the perfect mix of useful information in an easy to digest format. I would strong recommend this to anyone.
First of all Amazon - why can't we do 1/2 stars?? And Secondly Amazon can you somehow remove the review bots that gives books countless 5 Stars regardless of the quality. The book is OK - I suppose. I personally dislike books where the author plugs his service, company website, business or whatever but rather than focus on the subject matter in the book, which is exactly what this book does. The book then becomes marketing for his service and whatever the message of the book is, is lost. The author probably thinks he's getting some excellent PR via his book..but it devalues the content of the book. This author pumps his business and his non "CPA" persona ad nauseam.The book talks about growing a business through acquisition without going into too much detail. The book is a decent enough overview I supposed but the message is a little distorted as I mentioned above.

It was well laid out with a clear outline of the step by step M&A process which was exactly what a beginner who is unfamiliar with the process needsThe book is not intended to make anyone an expert at M+A, rather it seeks to enlighten the reader of the basics of the various issues that are involved. This is especially important when you need to hire an expert (accountant, appraiser, attorney) to evaluate and effect the aspects of the deal. It is essential to business owners who need to know what is involved.
I just finished reading this book and was impressed with the information provided. This book focuses on M&A for business under 30 million down to 100k, there are not many M&A books out there that hit this underserved niche. I would recommend to anyone wanting to grow their business though acquisitions and anyone wishing to sell their company.
