Review
“The relationship between Dani and Ryodan finally lights up in a fiery, joyful ending. Well done, Karen Marie Moning.”—The Reading Cafe “A romance wrapped up in a thrilling sci-fi novel—what more could you want?”—PopSugar “If you’ve never read a Moning book before, you’re missing out. Her heroines alone are worth the read. . . . Despite being set in a dystopian world filled with magic and fae, the obstacles that these characters go through are very much humanlike. . . . Cannot wait to see where [she] takes this series next.”—Under the Covers “The picture that Moning paints with her stories is so real. . . . In High Voltage, the real Dani is front and center. . . . I absolutely can’t wait to see what comes next in this explosive series.”—I Smell Sheep Praise for the novels of Karen Marie Moning Feversong “Bold and brilliantly layered, deeply emotive and all-consuming, the story curves full circle as Mac and Dani try to save the world. . . . Fans of the series . . . will love every moment, every page. As one now expects from the incredibly talented [Karen Marie] Moning, gasp-inducing surprises await.”—USA Today “Heart-pounding.”—Entertainment Weekly “Epic.”—New Orleans Gambit “Moning is one of the best. . . . [Feversong is] an exciting, pulse-pounding action-filled adventure that at times is dark and terrifying, and other times gloriously happy and romantic. . . . Another fantastic story.”—The Reading Cafe “[Feversong is an] epic ending to an epic series.”—The Review Loft Feverborn “Moning’s world-building is extensive and inspired, and she never fails to keep the action fast and the stakes high. . . . The heroes’ shared danger, victory, loss and turmoil translate into emotional intensity and sexual tension.”—The New York Times Book Review “Moning is back, burning up the pages with scorching tension, gasp-out-loud surprises, unshakable danger and unexpected feels. Feverborn is simply impossible to put down. . . . I’m not sure how Moning is able to do it after eight books, but each novel proves more exciting than its predecessor as she continues to raise the stakes in this ongoing, exhilarating saga. Feverborn is a fight between ancient magic and renewed determination, a duel between old wounds and deep-seated love. Once again, you won’t be able to put this book down.”—USA Today “Feverborn is at once the most gratifying and infuriating (in the best way possible) volume in the series yet. Moning’s proclivity for passion, emotion and shocking twists is showcased in breathtaking clarity. . . . Fans of the series will be panting, both with heat, and a frenzied need to know what happens next.”—PopWrapped “A masterpiece of epic proportions. With this book, Moning shows us exactly why she is such an indispensable writer in the genre.”—Under the Covers

Dani O’Malley is the bees knees as we all believed! The fire cracker in Mac’s shadow is finally taking flight on the life she was destined for! Beautiful, strong, with and unyielding commitment to those who can’t protect themselves, Dani finds herself in another situation that she is battling her way through, for the people of Dublin, the Abbey and the world. Things might have calmed down for a bit, but nothing in Dublin stays silent.I’ve seen mixed reviews for this novel and frankly it’s unfathomable! My Dani and Ryodan cravings have been barely satisfied! But IT WAS EVERYTHING!! Ryodan is a man of steel, but in true natures form of forcing magnets together, we see a side of the mystery, the man who would burn worlds down for our girl!I CAN’T GET ENOUGH!!!!Questions are answered.Characters are challenged. They overcome. They adjust. They battle on.And the future is bright. The Fever is still strong in this one!
So may emotions in one book. It draws you in all the way to the end. It answers old questions and opens new ones yet still leaves you with an ending.
Ok...here's the thing...I have always been bad about leaving reviews for Karen's books because I can't ever not give anything away...this one won't be one of those reviews. So, to be honest, and probably raked over the coals, I didn't really like Dani...or Ryo for that matter. I was a Mac and Barrons fan all the way...to be fair, still am...but......and there it is, the "but." Guys, get the book. Read it. Read it again. Be ready for the fastest ride yet, because when we were told this is the end of Dani's story arc, Karen wasn't kidding. We had 10 books, granted Dani was in a few, but 10 books of Mac and Barrons...High Voltage felt like 10 books in the same package, but with a promise of more stories...So there you go, that's my review...this is the first time I have ever been able to write one because I knew I could do it without giving anything away...read this book, xxLyndsey
This will always be my favorite series!! Even though I have a hard time enjoying Dani's POV (wasn't thrilled with Iced), i'm glad to see her more mature and that helps me. Yes she still had lots of immature moments but she's still young. I will admit I did get a little bored in the beginning when everyone was gone and it was just Dani. I think I just miss Mac and Barrons so much! But I will say KMM shocked me again with all those "confessions" by Ryodan at the end and those twists and turns about Dani. I loved how she tied the very first chapter(which confused the crap out of me) to the ending and I loved it!!! Can't wait for more ..... even if I have to have more books of Dani's POV just so I can still be in this world! I will be keeping my fingers crossed that we will have more of Mac and Barrons in the future!!
This is a story that demands to be read more than once. The first read through is a frantic turning of pages, skimming for names, and trying to get to the answer- and all the while you’re just hoping it’s the answer that, as a reader, you need it to be to not feel cheated. You hold your breath, exhale, and hold it again over and over as the plot twists and turns. In the first read through you find yourself irritated by scenes that you might otherwise enjoy if not for the fact that you just need to know the ending. So when you get there go back and re-read. Let yourself appreciate what a storyteller KMM is and what she’s able to do one installment after the next. And then kick yourself for reading the book too freaking fast knowing that it’s a long year of waiting ahead for the next one to come out.
This is the book that fans have been waiting for, the one that ties all the pieces together in the story arc of Dani "Mega" O'Malley and it's simply stunning!I'm just going to start off by saying I'm biased. I love KMM. Completely. Totally. I find her writing style to be thought provoking and with a depth that few authors can achieve. If you're already a fan of the Fever Series and are just checking in to see if High Voltage is worth it? Does it live up to expectations? All I can say is-yes it is and it most definitely surpasses all expectations. I won't be leaving any spoilers. To do so would ruin the journey. For those of you new to the Fever Series, I will say that more so than any other book in the series this one could possibly stand alone. However, I would recommend starting at the beginning. There is just so much life to see lived on the pages that will enrich every inch of your reading experience. I guarantee it's well worth your time.KMM's writing is an absolute masterpiece with life lessons for us all. Every new book, every new chapter, it always leaves me with a profound feeling of awe. Karen's understanding of the human struggle, this epic adventure of life, and the brilliant way that her prose highlights all of the different facets in between is nothing short of a masterpiece. Bravo!
I was so afraid with such high expectations, this book would be disappointing. Sometimes we put so much pressure on the author the next book is not what we want it to be. Karen Marie Moning delivered. It was epic, unbelievable written, sit on the edge of your seat thrilling but beautiful.I have read the entire series. Thinking it couldn’t get better but it did. She is able to transport you, you are the book, the characters, the story. It’s not a cliff hanger but you know it will continue. I can hardly wait.
This book is everything you've waited for and everything you haven't. KMM brings you along on a ride through the roller coaster that is Dani's life and entrances you with her vivid storytelling and lush wording. I couldn't put it down. Now that I devoured it in less than 6 hours, I will be going back and taking it in a little slower. Ryodan and the Nine are back, Shazam is always up to no good, Mac & Barrons have a battle of their own, and much more character development you will never see coming. KMM has definitely done it again.
