Decided to try this book bc I love MC biker romance but this definitely did not do it for me. I did not like Ruger at all he was mean to her all the time putting her down as a mother playing with her emotions, also saying he isn't going to faithful to her. And u wanted me believe that he has always cared for her always had a special place in his heart for her. Just no I'm sorry but any guy that said he can't say no to other girls is wrong. The only redeeming quality he had was how he was with Noah. He loved that little boy a lot and it showed throughout the book and I'm happy that the little boy had him. Sophie...ugh she was annoying a bit I wouldn't say she was a bad mother but I wished she would of went off on Miranda for leaving her son alone and not caring for him bc I would of if I saw that scene. Or want to kill the guy who tried to touch Noah. But nope she didn't have a back bone. Her best night was going out with her friend and drinking..yep awesome. She wasn't a bad person she just was all over the place and I didn't like it. I'm curious about the other books so Im going to try this author again bc I can't just base her off his book bc sometimes one of the books doesn't do the other books justice. So I'll give this series another shot.
Joanna Wylde has created a world with her Reapers MC series that I really don't want to end. In book two of this series, Reaper's Legacy I feel like I am even more compelled to find out what happens next in this series. From start to finish, I am drawn in and Joanna's brilliant words did not let me go. It is filled with suspense, action, combustible chemistry and emotional ties that will keep me coming back for more. Though this story can be read as a stand alone. I love that it is a part of a series. Joanna does an excellent job of intricately weaving multiple story lines through out each book that continues the current plot, but also leaves possibilities for ones to come in the future. She develops memorable characters that grow with you, latch on to your heart andIn this story, you meet Sophie and Ruger. Sophie was 17 when she lost her virginity. With that loss she gained the best thing that ever happened to her; her own son Noah. Zach, the boy who she lost her virginity to didn't amount to much and ended up being a dead beat dad. Zach's brother Ruger ends up being the one who is there for her when it really matters. He is the only male role model Noah. The only problem is that Ruger belongs to the Reapers, a Motor Cycle Club. The MC is not a place for Noah or Sophie that matter. This book made me feel a wealth of emotions. I felt each emotional struggle each character went through. I laughed as well as cried. I was burning through the pages because of the suspense Joanna Wylde built into the story line. Not only did I fall in love with Sophie and Ruger, but I have come to want to know about all of the characters mentioned in this book. It had me automatically one-clicking the next book in this series.PS - The audio version of this book only enhanced Joanna Wylde's work. I devoured this audio. Tatian Sokolov and Todd Haberkorn did an excellent job of narrating this story and I can't wait for more from either of them as well.
Ruger and Sophie each other for some time. She had been dating his stepbrother and got pregnant. Needless to say the step brother didn't stick around when the baby was born so Ruger took over helping raise him but secretly they both had a crush on beach other . One night Noah needed help and Ruger came to rescue him and both went to live with him. Now their chemistry was hard to fight but they tried to keep their communication open for Noah . Sophie decided she was a one woman man but Ruger til her up front he wasn't and she would not give into just being a fling to him.So begins the breaking down and changing of Ruger . Mr. tough guy decided when Sophie gets kidnapped maybe he just can't live with our her but is it to late for them. This was a great book and you just kept routing for them to get their stuff together.
There weren't any screams or anything coming from the inside. Good sign or bad? Hard to tell-this was my first felony and I didn't know the proper procedure."Like Marie, in Book 1 of this series, Sophie has grown up outside the MC world and has done her best to stay removed from it, despite the fact that her son's uncle is a Reaper. "I might not have my life entirely together, but I was pretty sure about one thing -- parties that ended with stabbings weren't part of the long-term plan."Ruger's tough guy image takes a beating when he steps in to be a presence in his nephew's life. One of my favorite scenes involves a one-sided conversation between Noah and Ruger."Yup. Still talkin' about Skylanders," Ruger said, his voice strained and his expression dark. "Been talkin' about Skylanders non-stop. I think we ran out of new material a while ago.... We got almost three and a half more hours. This might kill me."Sophie and Ruger have an extremely complicated relationship that dates back years. I like that this wasn't one of those "we wasted time because of a misunderstanding" stories. Both Sophie and Ruger have good reasons for having kept their mutual distance in the past, but sparks start flying. There is a great secondary cast of characters from the first book. This is definitely a book to enjoy more than once.
